This horrible experience happened to my friend. Bought a laptop last week that ended up being faulty for $3200, now buckle up because this is the only part that's not the store's fault. 2 days ago I spoke to manufacturer first to see if they could resolve the issue, they could not and told me to bring it back to the store for a refund, replacement or repair. Yesterday took the laptop back to the store, there was maybe 5 staff members that were present noting down the obvious issue of the webcam being broken. I was subsequently told that they have another new laptop of the exact same model in store, but could not give it to me then and there because they needed to "confirm with the manufacturer that the laptop is indeed faulty". I was told the item will be held for me and that they will call me to pick it up the next day. I asked to leave my details, have a receipt and see that the hold order, but all employees present told me that this is not necessary and that they will do all the paperwork. Fast-forward to today, I received a text and email to pick up the laptop "ready to collect". Arrived in store and surprisingly they did not have the item in stock anymore, apparently the hold order was NOT placed and they had sold it to someone else. The employees who were on this case the day before suddenly had no recollection of who I was or the hold order that they were supposed to place. They offered me a refund or to order in another one from a different location which would take 5-7 business days, I took the refund as I had to head back to work and wanted to have a look to see if I can get the same laptop at another store on the same day. I didn't have much luck so I headed back later on in the day, asked them to get the same laptop for me from the other store and they decided to raise the price by $300. I asked why this is and they just said the price is now different. I spoke to the manager about the whole process, he laughed and said they will take this on as a "learning experience". Apart from the employee Forrest and another Asian salesperson who had tried his best to help me throughout the process, everyone else in this store was utterly unprofessional, inconsiderate and incompetent at their jobs. Do NOT purchase from this store as the after-sales process is an absolute mess and know that the employees or manager will do nothing except for the bare minimum to make the process as complicated and unbearable as possible. If you do make any purchases just cross your fingers that you do not have to try and return or service the product.
