Hollyford Track Guided Walk

The whole experience was first class. The guides were outstanding, so much knowledge of the area. The hosts at the lodges were very welcoming, the drivers of boats, buses and helicopters great. The lodges were exceptionally clean. All meals and snacks were plentiful. We saw more and learnt more than if we had done a freedom walk- seals sand dunes and extra out of way scenery. if you havent done much multi day hiking this is a great walk with minimal challenges. Would recommend Hollyford Wilderness Experience without hesitation.

Had a fantastic trip guided by Niki and Robin. Weather was superb, all of the team were so professional and well organised, giving all 15 of us in our group and experience we will never forget. Totally recommend this trip if you are looking for an amazing Southland wilderness experience.

This is not a review of the experience but of the team. We were independently tramping the Hollyford and were blown away but the kindness of the hosts, particularly, Shaun, Jeremy, Joy and Murry. You made our trip, and will certainly recommend the company in the future.

If you could only do two great walks in NZ , I would recommend this one and the Routeburn , both guided, of course. The first is all bush and river valleys to the sea, the second is alpine walking and mountain passes at its best. Ngai Tahu's Hollyford Experience is outstanding for guiding, food, and service. Well done, Michelle and the lodge teams.
